I've been reading a lot of the conversations on teaching and moving to Vietnam and I was hoping to get a bit more of a heads up. I lived in China for a year and you were always given free accom as a perk. I also taught at Universities and Colleges. The life in China wasn't that good however and is why I would like to try Vietnam.
Where can I look to find jobs in Universities. Even if accom isn't included.
One more thing. Can you get by on speaking english to the locals? (Before you have an Vietnamese memorized) |

Hey Bette
You could have a look at RMIT. They have been advertising a lot recently for staff. I don't think you get accommodation but I could be wrong, it's not common in Vietnam.
Don't worry about not speaking Vietnamese I managed to work and live there happily without learning any (I know shame on me). Everyone I came across in shops etc had some level of English.
Hope this helps. |

Depends where you go, but I have found that lots of people can speak English, at least at a basic level. In Saigon, that is. |
