Ewhat's Trini? Trinidad and Tabago? MIght be hard to find work there unless you're a qualified teachers, they speak English there.

Colombia sounds good,
Venezuela's been goign through turminoil for a while.

Brasil is also good, but does have high unemployment.
Argentina is good.
:Peru is good and home to me Smile

You're oging to be hard pressed for people to say which is the best, it all depends. Pay is bascially the same, 500 to 1000 USD, split shifts, private classes to supplement income, and maybe working a couple of jobs.

What's Trini?

Trinidad? You won't be able to teach much English, but they might be able to help you with your spelling (Argentia?)

Columbia? District of Columbia in the U.S.? Nice city, just don't cross the river. Anacostia is far more dangerous than most L.A. cities.

If you mean Colombia, check the new forum that just started.

Don't forget Mexico, Costa Rica, and Chile. All have fairly large ESL markets.

Indeedy...Mexico is the biggest in fact. Even smallish Costa Rica has lots of jobs.

I think Argentina is a tougher market to do well in.

ARGENTINA is probably one of the most 'developed' countries in the region, no?

who has worked in any of these countries:
Colombia
Venezuela
Peru
Costa Rica
Trinidad & Tobago
Argentina

Do a little research. Each of the countries you have listed has a seperate forum(sans VEN) with many great contributions that will guide you in your choice.

As for Trinidad, I don't have knowledge, but I would be skeptical about finding any employment outside of the tourist industry as that is the largest section of the island's economy. Since English is the language, you can pretty much rule out teaching unless your creds. are impeccable and Trinidad has an Internaitional school.

"Argentina has the highest Human Development Index level and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita in purchasing power parity in Latin America.[2][3] The country is currently classified as an Upper-Middle Income Country by the World Bank,[4] or as a secondary emerging market.[5][6] Argentina's nominal GDP is the 31st largest economy in the world.[7]"

OK so I had to do the confirmation for myself..

If you don't like the feeling of the post then whatever mate..

Who, you ask?
Well that can't really be answered can it..But I would suggest most people on this 'round planet', and, no that wouldn't be due to the distorted rants of world leaders, that would be out of lack of education, health care, money, infrastructure in their own home town..

Don't be so quick to judge and assert some sort elitism..

Seems that the years of teaching may have some slight side effects a la pre-disposition to feeling like you have to 'mark' work or that you are somehow 'head of the class'...?

My question was is Argentina one of the most developed countries in L.America? And the answer actually is yes, it is the most developed, in fact it is one of the most developed in the world.

No question Argentina is one of the most developed nations in SA. This has historically been true but the effects of their devastating economic crash of earlier this decade did temporarily relegate them to 2nd world status even if much of its infrastructure remained in place.

Hopefully many of the concerns voiced in this thread will continue to be addressed by the reforms put in place by Kirchner and that Argentina and the Peronistas have learned from their history and move forward.

As far as ESL, I have only made minor examinations of the Argentina forum, but isn't the job market in B.A. fairly tight due to lots of competition? And aren't salaries fairly low when compared to the elevated living costs?
