I booked my plane ticket which arrives in Osaka on the 11th of february. I've just found out that its a national holiday (National Foundation Day). Will I run into any problems?

Banks and government institutions won't be open. That's about all.

Not really a problem unless you are running to a tight schedule that first day but public transport may be running a slightly lighter service. Public holidays really don't mean much here so you'll probably find it hard to believe that it really is one.

Besides New Years, most holidays are the same as any other day. I recommend changing some money at the airport or before you arrive here. Post office ATMs in Japan will usually accept int'l debit cards, most other ATMs won't.

I would think arrive my be better than leaving, especially if it is a heavy tourist season.

Otherwise, nothing is different, just that no banks and gov't offices are open. Change money at the airport or at home.
