I am an English coordinator at a private junior high and high school in DF. I was wondering if people could give me ideas for English speaking activities or contests outside of my school such as spelling bees, grammar contests, or other school contests in English; or trips or tours to museums or other places given in English. Also any other ideas for getting my students to practice English outside the school.

Thanks in advance,
J

Several times in the past few years prepa students have come up to me in malls and parks and asked me a series of pre-selected questions about my being in Mexico. They have done this as a class assignment.

Shakespeare at the Anglo. There is a contest every Feb. where kids have to perform a monologue and a sonnet. It's super awesome. I coach kids at my school and last year we placed in the top three; first place wins a trip to the Globe in London.

Thanks dixie and geaaronson for your suggestions. If you think of anything else, let me know.
