Are contracts needed for part time teaching jobs in Taiwan? That doesn't seem necessary to sign a contract for a year for a little 8 hour a week job.
Thanks |

I always get a contract, part time or not. otherwise you won't have a leg to stand on should things go sour. |

Furthermore, if you are not on a marriage visa you should have a contract and a proper work permit for every job. Otherwise you might get busted by the police sometime. |

Exactly, if the police decide to raid your school (actually happens more than you think) and you're there without a work permit. 1 word...deportation. |

Do schools normally provide a work permit for part time jobs? |

Usually you will have to insist on it. |
