If I were to go to Hong Kong I probably wouldn't want to commit to a two year term, so what are my chances of finding work?
I've taught in mainland China for 4 years, Sydney for 6 months, speak Mandarin & Japanese and have my CELTA.
Am keen on teaching students of any age, full time wouldn't be a problem, but don't want to do it for two solid years.
What are my options?
Thanks! |

Looks pretty obvious. Language schools and tutorial centers. Even then you'd need to commit to at least a certain period of time. Maybe not two years, but if you're just thinking of a few months or half a year, you have your job-hunting work cut out for you. |

Are these kinds of schools easy to come by? |

Not sure how to answer that. Plenty of places, but some are more professional and picky than others. It depends on how professional you wish to be. But I honestly can't comment on how "easy" these jobs are to get. Focus more on what you can do for them than what they can do for you (basic job-hunting advice regardless of the industry) and your chances get better. |

you'd be restricted to teaching school kids. You need more than a CELTA to teach adults unless is a shoddy tutorial school.
Unless you get a contract with some school, you won't be able to get a work visa / id card. Most tutorial work is part time after school - and this kind of work doesn't get you a visa.
there are quite a few jobs for full time kindergarten teachers which only require a CELTA. some of them may be willing to sponsor you with visa. |
