Does anyone know of any good books or resources for this topic as they seem to be pretty thin on the ground?
Thanks

O.K., let me get this straight. You're asking 'bout "Customer Care/Service" on the U.A.E. forum? Good Luck at that. If you do get a PM on this, could you forward it to Eti____t Customer Service?!?

Well we all know that they need it and that's why I have been asked to teach it and I am asking for English teaching resources.

See what happens when you only read the post instead of the subject line and title, NCTBA.

Sorry I don't know of any Mr mishkela... perhaps mafi in the first place. Laughing (sorry again...)

But, I do think they need to learn the concept before worrying about the English. Perhaps it would be easier to find a training manual on the topic (online?) and create your own English materials out of it.

Dear mafimishkala,

A Goggle search didn't turn up much, but . . .

http://www.tefl.net/alexcase/wp-content/uploads/CustomerServiceDiscussion.pdf

http://esl.about.com/od/businessspeakingskills/a/customer_ser.htm

http://www.eastsideliteracy.org/tutorsupport/Work/Work_Complaints.htm

http://www.tefl-magic.com/noframes/material/exp/com.htm

http://www.eslflow.com/ConsumerComplaintMenu.html

maybe these books?

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Customer+Service%3A+A+Practical+Approach+by+Harris&x=12&y=22

Sorry if these are not what you need.

Regards,
John

Cheers for that Tom, I knew there was a specific book out there but hadn't found it trawling through catlogues.

Come back and let us know if it worked out. So often we find a book that seems like it should work, but then it is filled with so much stuff that doesn't transfer to the Gulf environment. Crying or Very sad

Indirectly, internet-based e-commerce lessons might help--or may not, up to you. The newest ones were last updated in 2005, but can obviously be adapted/updated by individual instructors as needed.
