I received an e-mail of a Mexico job announcement and it contained this line: "Your working visa will be taken care of once you're here (you just need to come on a regular holiday visa)."

Is this for real? Do they really wait until you get into the country before they get you a working visa (so that you can legally work in the country)? That seems odd to me.

S, es verdad. You have 180 days on a tourist visa, which you must convert into a working visa in that time. Although, some on this forum are reporting that the system is about to change... with no clear details available yet.

No, thats the only way you can get one in Mexico, you have to do it once you are here. A tourist visa is typically for 180 days, so you have plenty of time since processing usually only takes a month, often less. More important to know would be the name of the employer.......

And there probably wont be for at least a few months, for the time being
its business as usual. I hve already seen a couple of different interpretations of exactly how the new law is going to shake out. I guess we will see what happens. Well, you guys will see, not me, I dont have to deal with it, except second hand.
