A Canadian traveler pointed this out to me the other day. In internet cafes here, you almost never see any Koreans use the internet. They all just play computer games. I agreed with him.

Why do you think that is?

They don't want to pay money just to surf the internet. The chances are, they have the internet at home. Many of them go to a PC bang to enjoy mutiplayer games with peers with high spec computers.

I know what you mean. I noticed it when I first came here. However, I saw it as a place to go to get away from the wife/girlfriend, where they could play their games as loud as they wanted.

I am YET to see a PC bang that has a computer I would deem "high-end". The computers in those places crack me up, especially when the rooms call them "high-end".

He meant highend as in highend for an average game player who does not cream his pants at night because the new Geforce card did a strip tease while an Intel quadro core beat him off in his dream.

Whenever Koreans ask if I like computer games I always reply "No-games are for little kids". Puts them into shock.

Theres something pathetic about full-grown men devoting their lives to starcraft. Devoting your time to Dave's is probably an equally loserish policy, but we foreigners are excused because we can't speak the lingo here. If i was fluent in Korean I wouldn't have the time to even post here. I would have..a life. Laughing

Playing games is an entertainment, just like watching a movie, playing with you children or reading a book

There is no such thing as High or Low entertainment, whatever takes your fancy.

I used to think this too, then I tried to figure out a difference between that and someone heavily into a sports team (watch every game, know every stat, make rituals, etc etc) and realized it's actually the sports fan that is more the loser because he/she doesn't actually do anything while the starcraft fanatic atleast partakes in the game. Smile

BTW, OP isn't very well thought out. They are still using the internet.

It says he recognizes and is shocked by your idiocy.
