Hmmm...this has even less substance than your normal LCD tripe.
Why not try it in Spanish? |

Whenever Koreans ask if I like computer games I always reply "No-games are for little kids". Puts them into shock.
Theres something pathetic about full-grown men devoting their lives to starcraft. Devoting your time to Dave's is probably an equally loserish policy, but we foreigners are excused because we can't speak the lingo here. If i was fluent in Korean I wouldn't have the time to even post here. I would have..a life. |
I remember British philospher Bertrand Russell commenting on something similar to what you say above in a book, "Conquest of Happiness." In the book, so called "adult" have a tendency to dismiss what they called "childish hobby" and somewhat arrogantly claim "been there, done that." As if doing that will somehow make them appear more "refined and mature."
We have people all over the world watching TV comedies where we are all so stupid to need "laugh track." And yet, do we accuse some adults of being "pathetic" when they watch "everybody loves raymond"?
I dont play Starcraft not because I find them immaturish, but I just don't have the time to memorize all the strokes, functions, and other thousands shi*. Simply, I am too lazy to learn. |

I enjoy a game or two on occasion. Can't say I see the point in spending endless hours on it though. I wouldn't dismiss a person for enjoying the pursuit of gaming as a past time. I do find it worrisome when I find out some of these dudes have children and wives at home and they are spending endless hours in the PC bang playing video games.
But then it isn't so much the gaming that I find worrisome it is the neglect of their family.
Nothing wrong with acting like a kid every now and again. Probably pretty dang healthy for you. Just not to the point where the things important to you in life are neglected.
Moderation seems to be the key in this case, and so many others. |
