What health insurance is available for my wife if/when she comes over?

Should she just get BUPA insurance from Thailand that covers Asia or something in Korea.

Any advice?

I know it's a while off but it's time to start building up a clear picture of all the little things I need to do.

I'm not sure, but hopefully this will spur someone else to confirm or deny. I think...but not at all sure, that your spouse is covered under your national medical plan. I am only remembering (again 'I think') something from my EPIK orientation.

My wife is covered on my National plan (NHIC) as my dependant. There was NO increase in premiums (at least mine didn't go up when I added her or our new baby when she was born last summer). For the record they are on my health care booklet.

She will need her ARC before she can be enrolled.

That is what I like to hear.

They stopped that practice here in Thailand. So had to take out private insurance again this year and a hospital payment plan just to be safe.

Bloody woman hasn't got sick yet. I need her to spend at least ten days in hospital to make back the cost of the insurance.

If you don't have any luck enrolling her in your health plan..try going to the catholic church and get their health insurance. If you are in Seoul,, there is a church in Hyewa Dong. Not sure if you need to be catholic or not. Try calling this number to get more info. 031-257-8501 Price is not bad either. Wink
