|
|
Is it possible for a foreigner to find a non teaching job in Korea? Does anyone know of websites that advertise jobs for foreigners?
I am looking for information for a friend and would appreciate your help!
Also, how does one go about getting a visa other than an E2 visa? I tried searching but none of the information I gathered was informative enough.
Thanks! |

That's true, but my friend does not have a diploma and therefore he cannot teach here. So he'd like to find some other job to get some other kind of visa, like a working visa, or something....
But any job would do. Hotel, restaurant, etc... |

H1 holiday visa is possible but he can't teach. He can work for a company or factory or something. You can get this VISA in Canada..don't know about other countries. |

He is from Portugal, so he's a holder of an EU passport. Any ideas? He's fluent in three languages.... |

He can either:
invest 50 million won in a new business and get a D8 investors visa,
marry a Korean and get an F2 visa,
find a Foreign Language Institute (hakwon) that teaches Portugese and get an E2,
go to work as an industrial worker (D3=trainee)(D10=factory worker),
come to learn TaeKwondo and get a D-1 (Culture/Art),
Become an entertainer and get an E6. |

I agree with tompatz...but he missed one. Does your friend play basketball? Korean professional teams always have at least 2 foreign players. |

I would say your friend has no hope. |

We imagine he can also apply to study Korean or at an international exchange school and get a visa, is this correct?
Thanks for all the great help! |

Yes, he can get a D2 - student visa but that requires him to actually apply and be accepted to a recognised school.
Otherwise it would be the D1 that was mentioned in my previous post (study of culture (including the Korean language) or art. |
