|
|
How's this for your first day of orientation in a private schhol: You are taught before every class you must clap your Dahn-John over 100 times to activate your spiritual power center. Interested? Read on.
Br English is a small branch of a much larger organization called Brain Respiration (BR). It is a pseudo-scientific cult started by a Korean named Dr. Ilchee Lee. You would be surprised at the amount of damning information about him on the web. Do a google search if you are interested.
Before I came over here, I was told we would be doing some exercises and some basic meditation before each class to help improve students learning capabilities. Instead of that, I am told students have Dahn-John centers in their body. We must then activate them through bizarre exercises such as slapping our crotch areas 100 times in a row (the lowest area is in the pelvis region). We also sweep energy down from our armpits and draw the infinity symbol with our arms. Next, we go through guided meditation where we ask them to put up a brain screen and to imagine their brain being cleaned with clear water. Amazingly, that sounds like a literal interpretation of brain-washing.
I am now leaving soon. I am putting this up here in hopes no one will consider teaching at this school.
Do your homework before you come over here. Get references! I wish I had. |

I've heard of Brain Respiration.
Two years ago, I worked at a hagweon which was right upstairs from a Brain Respiration hagweon.
I wondered what it was, but I couldn't ask because my Korean wasn't good enough.
Thank you for telling me. |

Please, please, PLEASE don't leave. You have to stay and give us weekly reports on the insanity. You owe it to humanity. Take notes, write a book and get rich and famous. I'm not just thinking about me. Really! |

Gee, we can just imagine the Sarah Shock Force stompin' down on their backsides and restoring an Aristotelian sense of harmony.... ;)
Ah, feck it , I'm just messing with you, Sarah, 'cause your photo suggests to this old sod that your heart is in the right place, etc.
Carry on, stay groovy, and buy me a Sam Adams Winter Ale, eh, whenst thou runest into moi at da' pub, eh.
As nutty as always,
I remain,

Please please please don't quit. The blog could be waaaay too much fun.
But, I think we should set up two-way-safe expressions for you. If you say one, or if you fail to say the second each day in your blog, we'll know you're in trouble and do an intervention. |

Remember that one episode of That 70's Show?
"Satan wants a cherry pop! Fez, get Satan a cherry pop!
Satan's second choice is root beer!"
The next time you have to activate your chi or whatever, start acting possesed and tell the kids "Satan wants some kimbap!"
Man, I wish I worked there. |

That reminds me of the time in high school when my friend was forced to teach sunday school at his catholic church.
He had a nice long talk to the kids about the prophet mohammad. Surprisingly, they didn't make him teach after that.
Satan wants a chupa chupa! |

My brother got kicked out of catechism class and sent to the principal's office when he was in grade two by a particularly religious susbstitute teacher. He had told the class and the teacher that Adam and Eve was nonsense because we are products of evolution. My dad, a biologist and former seminarian, didn't find that one funny. He called up the teacher and let her known that the catholic church had recognized evolution as a scientific fact more than 20 years earlier and added that there were plenty of other religious groups that would be more than happy to accept her if she insisted on arguing with an 8 year old about science.
