|
|
I'm so tired of ajumma Korean Christians approaching me with absurd literature. I wish I knew where I could find atheist literature in Korean to hand back to them. The thing is there probably isn't any. The world is five thousand years old. The bible says so. The guy who wrote it even met the talking snake once, and saw all them animals and insects (millions of them) fit into the ark. Hell, he even interviewed the guy once who spent three days in the whale's stomach. Why would you doubt him? Religious people are a bafflement to me at the best of times, but Korean Christians take the cake for gullibility. Any links to atheist (even agnostic) literature in Korean would be welcomed. Or even the names of books in Korean that discuss the actual origins of life etc.
Thanks. |

Are you genuinely interested in it, or do you just want to shove something back in the evangelists' faces as you said? People do not want to believe in something they don't want to believe in. You can't debate with a wall. |

I want people to learn how to think critically. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Just because they have never been exposed to critical thought, doesn't mean that they have to live the rest of their single existence in a state of delusion. People can wake up. I look at it as a public service. I give a few dollars to the homeless when I pass them in Seoul. Why shouldn't I also donate a little knowledge to the ignorant.
To not do it would be unkind.
And yes, I'm genuinely interested in getting some literature. |

Careful though, there's also some atheist 'literature' minus the critical thinking so be sure you know exactly what each paragraph says so that you can represent your own reasons for not having a religion and also make sure that the quote you're using isn't from somebody who is insane. Here's a blog post by a very anti-religious atheist that hates Israel and has decided that what Hitler did was never wrong.

There are plenty of atheists in Korea still. I'd assume anything not written for the purpose of spreading the Jesus vampire is written by an atheist until proven wrong. |
