I live in Japan and next week I'm visiting Korea to tour a school that is looking to hire a teacher. They invited me over, are paying for my ferry, bus and hotel so I think I have quite a good shot at getting the position. My question is, would it be totally out of line to bring a traditional Japanese sweet as a gift? This isn't bribery. This is just one person thanking another person for the invite and tis the holiday season. Anyway, do, don't do... What do you think?

Koreans don't like Japan or anything Japanese. Depending on the person, they might see it and get pi$$ed.

Chances are, they will like the gesture. I think it's a good idea.
