Mine is Unforgiven.
That's right. I've killed everything that's walked or crawled. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to my friend, Ned. Now you boys back away.
I also like Tombstone with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer.
And who can forget The Wild Bunch? |

I also love Unforgiven. The final shootout in the bar was great. You know Clint Eastwood has mega-power when he can get the likes of Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman to sign on in supporting roles. Another good movie was Wyatt Earp. Costner's a mediocre actor but the movie is totally worth seeing just for the performance of Dennis Quaid as Doc Holliday. He was amazing. |

#1 in my book has always been John Ford's 'The Searchers', ever since I saw it in a drive-in when I was a kid.
#2 is Robert Altman's 'McCabe and Mrs. Miller'. Leonard Cohen's music really fits it.
#3 High Noon. Gotta love Gary Cooper.
#4 Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The most lovable bad guys in movie history.
#5. Dances with Wolves makes wanna run away and live with the Sioux.
#6. Destry Rides Again. Jimmy Stewart and Marlene Dietrich. Funny and sad. |

Ghost Dog, although it is more a genre collage than a pure western. It's like a mob movie meets a samurai movie meets a western. |

The Searchers, Shane, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance all classics and in the case of The Seachers, truly magnificent filmmaking. |

Oh my God! I totally forgot about Josey Wales. You're right, it is the best ever. Best line ever in a western when he was facing the bounty hunter....
Bounty Hunter: "It's a living."
JW: "Dyin ain't much of a living boy." |
