I totally felt that when I met 'cha man. |

Imagine society full of people who reveal their thoughts. We're allowed to commit any crime in thought. If we were all really honest and did not stop to be careful about what we say, just blurted out any old crap on our minds, how weird would that be. That's kind of the experience you get around some kids or some who assume you don't understand their language. You get an uncensored version of their thoughts, which is cool, though it may offend. It's like reading someone's diary.
Well we have the internet to parallel this. My name is jajdude, and you, scapegoat127 shall be the target of my thoughts that I'm not allowed to express in society unless I'm a comedian, and then only on stage. So I'll call you a stupid #$%**% for no reason (ah, makes me feel like a man) because I don't know you, we'll never meet and I don't want to know who you really are anyway. This is also why I'll never want to talk about who is who on this forum when I meet people. This is unreality. Let's leave it here. |

'That Qinella, he's the new breed of internet crusader.' That's precisely what I thought the first time we met. |

Alter Ego
"An alter ego (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, a second personality or persona within a person. The term is commonly used in literature analysis and comparison to describe characters who are psychologically identical"

| The past 2 or 3 days I have been playing this card game on yahoo games. I suck at it and I keep losing focus and making bad plays. Man, I have never received so many insults, being called an idiot and worse. (If you make some bad plays it affects everyone's score, so people get upset when they see you could have played the cards in a better order.) I just find it hard to take an online game seriously, but other people act like their life is on the line. It's incredible how many sore losers there are. Many people will do anything to win or avoid losing a silly online game, and it's also amazing how easily they will insult people. You can't take it seriously, but of course a lot of these people would get their heads knocked in if they acted like that in person. My older but not bigger brother once called me something awful while playing cards. I wish I could say I just hauled off and belted him like I wanted to, but I just said "man, don't say that." Men over 30 can act like children sometimes over the stupidest things. |

Well, therein lies a big reason why people feel like they can't say how they honestly feel in public. Other people just can't handle insults very well. You call them an idiot and they get all huffy and offended.. maybe violent.. so people just hold back their true feelings. |

| One thing the internet proves, as if we did not know already, is that there are a lot miserable people in this world. I just can't see a guy happy with himself dishing out obnoxious insults to strangers online. Nope, it's the miserable characters who do this. Judging by the immense amount of rudeness, we can guess just how many people are really unhappy. |

I think what you mean to say is "fundamentalists."
I also think you mean to say "social tolerance," not "intelligence." There are doctors, scientists and MENSA members who are Christian. I don't believe many of them are fundamentalists, though.
The most important things to remember are:
1. Fundamentalists of many religions fk things up. Look at what the fundamentalists are doing with Islam around the world.
2. While many wars have been fought in the name of a religion or god, the absence of religion does NOT decrease violence, greed or other socially harmful elements. |

How is this any different than calling a person out for having a low self esteem by belittling people in person?
IMO, if you're a fawkin idiot than you're a fawkin idiot and I'll either tell you that to your face or just try and imagine that you don't exist. |
