Worst Korean food?

Um, let's see, I wouldn't know where to start, really.

They can't even get green tea right here. Shocked

What the hell's wrong with the green tea?? I think it's great here. Go buy yourself some nice Boseong green tea and make it properly. Good stuff. Expensive though.

Hyeon:

Even a common brand of Chinese green tea surpasses the expensive brands here. As for handpicked Hangzhou Dragon Green Tea, nothing in Korea or Japan can approach it. Japan likes to brag about its tea culture but most of it orginated in China--same for Korea.

Yeah, sea cucumber is pretty bad, but they have that in Japan and China too. What about those big insects, are they fried locusts or something?

Anything "native" to Korea that's widely eaten that's unedible?

I'd have to say most of their street food falls into that category, although at least it doesn't make me want to vomit.

Gaebul, it looks like someone chopped off their d**k and threw it in a fish tank.

sangnakji. Octopus plucked from the tank, killed and chopped up in front of you (or nearby) and served raw and wriggling. Ugh.

There is something wrong with you. That stuff is excellent.

What is everyones beef with 오댕? Man I love that stuff.

However I do agree that 본대기 (spelling?) and 순대 are outright disgusting. And the seafood thingy that Son Dureo mentioned is pretty bad too.

Hershey's? No thanks. And that white chocolate thing, yuk.
Munchies! Malteasers! Creme Eggs! Crunchie! Milky Bar!
I'm going to phone my mum now.

I'd have to agree with this guy. I'm from the States, and Hershey's is just bland. We have a store back home called World Market. I've had candy in the foreign section from that store, and those Lion bars are incredible.

Oh, here we go, the old let's knock Hershey's routine.

For the quantity produced and sold and the price, Hershey's is hard to beat. Sure, you can spend a fortune on Belgian chocolates. Cadbury's? Give me a break. English chocolate sucks. Dutch is o.k. and some Swiss and, heck, even some Tianjin dark chocolate from China is good and dirt cheap. Even Japanese Meija isn't too bad or the Ghana variety.

And for fanciers, I suppose Godiva would be up to muster. Some people prefer dark, some milk chocolate, some even...Cadbury's.

Does anyone here like O-jingo-jot, the spicy raw squid burried in a pot for a while? I love the stuff, usually buy a few hundred grams a week for my final bit of protien for the evening (am weightlifting again).

When I first came to Korea, I was out in the country. In fact, country folk would consider it to be the country. I ate things that I couldn't even tell you the name of; the food I have access to now was a sheer delicacy. I am glad to be out of that small, small, podunk town.

I ate things that were bland and made liver taste quite nice. If you ever want an adventure, travel through the Korean countryside.

Fermented fish stomach, eyes, hearts and livers, etc. Served as a sidedish by the captain of a charter boat I went fishing on. I ate it but didn't enjoy it at all.

"bondeggi - boiled silkworm larvae" is some nasty crap. Someone, somewhere, probably uses that as a torture device
