Uninhibited? Maybe. A good theory at least. It does make sense. (I was deeply shy as a kid though) So much is new to a youngster and so much is wonderfully felt. So many emotions burst over simple things. We lose this when we get older. Losing one's sense of joy and wonder is a sad thing.
Another possiblity is that the world is full of giants from a child's point of view. We are large to them. They must be loud to deal with the space they lack, which we have. It must be wild surrounded by people who are giants. Yet, they are still damn noisy even when no adults are around. Is there a psychology of smallness? Well, adult midgets are not loud are they? Nah, it must be the abundance of newness and emotions that haven't yet become familiar. Plus vying for the adult attention.
I agree, kids are great. I miss being one. Life was more magical then, when the entire world was often wrapped in a very single thing. Sometimes it still is, but not like long ago. There's less magic in adulthood. We have lost things we need to love life. |

| Yep. I think that's the secret, trying to keep or rediscover that sense of wonder. We may fall into a preference for the predictable, the safe, instead of keeping our eyes open for the new and wonderous. Thanks for making your point, things have been a little dull lately. Maybe I can discover my "inner child" again. I think I just made my New Year's resolution. |

Children probably have disproportionately strong lungs so that they could holler for help when threatened by a sabre-tooth tiger.
Any other evolutionary theories? |

Korean kids are noisy because they don't have any free time to release all that energy except in the classroom.
if the kids had time to play or had to do a lot of sport..you'd see quieter, more subdued classes every day. I recommend 6 hours a week on the rugby field, cross country training or swimming for these youngsters.. academic development happens in tandem with physical development... |

| That's a good point. Let 'em go play a bit more. Some do play soccer and do other things regualarly, but some others are pretty weighed down by school and academies. Lots of small kids carry around nearly half their own weight in books! I pick up their bags of books sometimes and they're heavy for me. They sure do have a lot of energy. I wish I had half of it, like I did many years ago. Another thing that helps is eating sensible food, not junk. A show on TV recently showed an American school where the students were eating decent, nutritious meals, and they were so much calmer in the classroom, and I think these were students who usually got poor grades. Just eating proper food improved their chances of graduating or even going to some post-secondary school. It's amazing what crap gets served in cafeteries in public schools everywhere, and it just hurts everybody, students, teachers, parents. Meanwhile, decent food costs no more. You'd think places of education would be more concerned with the health of students. |

We are taught not to express ourselves because it may draw unwanted attention to ourselves. Kids don't care about that, they desire attention and I think in Korea they had to fight for a space at the trough(spelling).
The trick is to let it build and then shout in a loud clear voice(be quiet) the volume on the first part of the word quiet can be can be raised where it shakes the room. This works for me and I usually can have at least ten minutes before it builds again and I repeat the process. |

The last three contributors have a point.
If you can't lick 'em, join 'em.
You can channel the children's energy by repeating a sentence rhythmically while clapping or knee-slapping.
You can also repeat a sentence shouting, whispering, whining, growling, or in any number of other ways.
You can also repeat a sentence while marching, running, or jumping.
Here is an argument for Creationists:
If God did not want children to be energetic,
God would not have made children energetic.
Here is an argument for Evolutionists:
If it were not in the Evolutionary interests for children to be energetic,
children would not be energetic. |

Kids are noisy in South Korea because they have to much energy.
Tip
1.Turn a noisy one upside down.
2.Look for a plastic cap usually located in their neck.
3. Open it.
4. Take out the batteries and replace them with the ones you can get from the Samsung Market on Sundays.
5.If all fails you can switch them off. |
