O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (9th C. Vulgate French/Latin)
Gabriel's Message (13th C. Latin, 14th C. Basque)
Coventry Carol (15th C. English)
I have to agree with the Guru. I think my Christmas Carol cut-off date is some where around 1500 AD +/- 100 years. |

those are the exact... Ahhh! So you're cheering for the Grinch, in his heroic battle against the dark and godless forces of communism... Well, okay then. I like your politics, and The Grinch Song makes the cut.

(I kept reading that as "monster-shaving" Btw, I recently heard a radio drama starring Karloff, a programme called "Creeps By Night", in which he plays a barber who does away with his victims by means of a straight-edge razor as they're seated in his chair for a shave. An odd coincidence.)
Yes, Boris and I go way back.

The song that goes,
"Do you hear what I hear?
Do you hear what I hear?
A child a child...."
That song gets me choked up every time. |

Well I have the carols playing...

It is the night of our dear Savior's birth..."
Hark The Herald angels sing
Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!....

Interesting, your first one used to be my fave and your second one is my fave. That Wesley sure could write good hymns. I would also add, "Angels we have heard on high." |

I guess its time for..
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o lang syne!
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne,
Well tak a cup o kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
We twa hae run about the braes,
And pud the gowans fine,
But weve wanderd mony a weary foot
Sin auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidlt in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roard
Sin auld lang syne.
And theres a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gies a hand o thine,
And well tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!
And surely yell be your pint stoup,
And surely Ill be mine!
And well tak a cup o kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
