My wife hates James Bond movies, but I took her to see this one last night (the first time I'd watched it it was bootlegged). Anyway, she was blown away by it and I figured out a lot more that I'd missed the first time through. It really is more than anyone could've hoped for.

I really liked this movie. Not a Bond fan, but I loved it.

The parkour was stellar, the opening credits were the most stylish ones since Delicatessen or a Hitchcock movie. Craig was just sexy as hell... That silhouette of that chick in the sunset was sexy... I don't know why people didn't think it was sexy!

This movie seemed to take forever to end in the fact that we'll see the French boyfriend come into fruition in the next movie, which is more or less a sequel to Royale.

One of the best foot chases I have ever seen. I thought the section about the hospital was a little boring but other than that it rocked. Great set pieces, particularly the Ventian House at the end. I loved Brosnan but this is pretty good.

Exactly! This movie was for women and girlie men.

Well this "girlie man" liked it, not the best Bond (Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, GoldenEye) but not the worst either (Licence to Kill, Dr. No (except the bikini sequence), Diamonds are Forever).

I just downloaded it and watched it again to see if I had missed something....

You guys are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It was dull. Bond has always been about upping the ante. Better cars, more beautiful locals, hotter women. This was a step backwards. If I want to watch a by-the-numbers thriller I'll catch the next installment of the Bourne series.

Then stick with your Bourne movies. This movie cut out everything that was wrong with the franchise and looked good doing it.

The Bourne books are fantastic and the movies are absolute crap. I don't know where you got the by the numbers bull from, but you're wrong.

How can someone with Shaft as his avatar be so wrong about a movie?

That's NO avatar.

How many different ways can I show this movie was rubbish? I've stated my case, the jury has deliberated, the Judge has read the results, the verdict is in, and I have pulled the switch.

Four Bond movies in the entire fantastic franchise have been absolute rubbish: Never Say Never (which doesn't really count anyway), Goldeneye, License to Kill, and this current debacle.

Oh, and the title song SUCKED. Nice graphics.

You missed the point. I haven't even seen the Bourne movies. I know instinctively that they're for crap.

You know, I'll sit through the rants about how Predator is the best guy movie ever (*cough* Arnie's got huge t!ts, for christs sake. ), but this is going too far. Somewhere along the line masculinity devolved into Beavis and Buttheadism, and being a guy became being a meathead. And I'm sick of it.

The old James Bond movies are for silly little boys. The new one is for modern gentlemen who prefer a little depth to their entertainment.
