Well, I may be a little premature with still almost six months to go before I leave Korea...but given all those hours to while away in my tiny mouse hole, I have already set about listing the most important things to do when I get home next year.

Have I missed any essentials? Please advise if so:

1) Drive a powerful car at high speed along an open road
2) Have prolonged and passionate sex with a whitey
3) Find the nearest Gregs to Heathrow and buy a pasty
4) Roll about laughing in the lush green grass
5) Register for Unemployment benefits
6) Play and win a game of snooker
7) Take a steady walk along a straight and level pavement
Cool Have an easy conversation with a stranger
9) Spend money with a true sense of it's value
10)Cross a street without waiting for a green man to flash
11)Have a big hot bath
12)Smoke a rolly
13)Walk the dog on the moors
14)Play the piano
15)Drink Grolsh
16)Dig the garden
17)Empty the rubbish into a big black bag and put it into a dustbin
18)Rediscover the residue of possessions hastily shoved up Dad's attic
19)Work out where all friends and family have moved to and move in with them
20)Eat real cheese
21)Watch the Ten o'clock news
22)Have a barbeque
23)Go bowling
24)Visit a doctor without charge
25)Send a taunting email to western friends still in Korea

Very Happy thanks Very Happy

You definitely are not from America, wow. I had a checkup with a doctor before coming to Korea. He did absolutely fvck-all. I mean, literally, he did nothing. He looked at me, said I looked alright, told me my smoking habit wasn't so bad because it's only about 5 a day and the nurse took my pulse. Total cost: $170.

Yowza.

Anyway, it sounds like you don't like it here too much. But if you're like a lot of people, you'll get home and when the sameness of home returns to you, you'll start cruising the job boards again, ready to head back. It happens.

26)Wake up when you realize that even though there is much more space on the street at night, someone will be feeling lonely and want to violate yours in an aggressive manner.

But reallly, enjoy your soggy lifestyle and soggy curry chips back home, I'll bet you'll get tired of that too. Thats the problem with travel. The more places u go to, the more u miss certain things. Soon enough u end up liking many different things but they are not all in the one place and everything at home seems like just a piece of the pie. Hopefully you'll resign yourself to marriage to counter this problem. Best of luck though!

Yes I miss home, just like I missed Korea before I ever even came here, which is why I came here.

The comment above about everything you like being in different places is just about simple enough to hit the nail on the head. I am going to solve this by getting England to come to Korea and wait at home whilst I go to work.

And the doctor comment....Yes it's "free" because we NHS pioneers stump up a mint in taxes so some fat lazy woman can tell you to come back to the clinic once a week for the next three weeks and then maybe the doctor himself will stub out his cigar and put a stethoscope to your chest.

Korea suddenly seems 0.5% better again....

Very Happy

I wonder how many white girls in Korea with bathtubs in their apartments and bowling alleys nearby have just PMed the OP?
