i just tried to order one of those awesome banks for my husband (he takes great pride in saving his coins and separating them....)

A late Christmas/early New Year's gift? Smile I bet he'll love it as much as I do. One thing, though: It determines the denomination of coins as they're inserted and it displays a running total, but it does not separate the coins inside the bank. Simply isn't enough space. So when you reach your target amount (setting one is optional) the coins will spill out all mixed together. 10W, 50W 100W & 500W coins. This was not immediately clear to me when I first opened the box.

What to do with that massive, untidy pile of different coins? Would be silly to have to separate and count them all over again. Banks would hate you for dropping it on them, and would make you hang around while they counted it. As for me, I'm planning to take the gulflend and another friend out for dinner & drinks at a little place nearby, a place where I'm known, trusted, and loved like a rockstar, and where dinner & drinks for three is within my 50,000 won target amount. They'll accept that it's whatever amount I say it is, they know I wouldn't lie. There are another few places where my word is gold and my honesty is impeachable. Just can't peach it. Many options, no worries.

i found the item on gmarket.co.kr and transfered it to their new english site and, if you can believe it, the "country" drop-down menu for shipping information does not have "korea" ! i guess i'll have to find a korean friend to help me with this.

I think I've seen them on display at Yongsan elect. market, but didn't know what they were at the time.

Goofiest: some sort of miracle dish towel. I still haven't figured out what's so miraculous about it...unless it works on its own.

Does your mum Christmas shop at the Dollar Store too?

I got an external HDD. Had to get a new DVD burner on Boxing day as my *cough* trusty Benq quit on me.

Wife got cosmetic stuff and still needs to decide on some more.

We got our 2 1/2 year old daughter some toys and piles of books.

Hmm..that's funny. I got pajamas that are too small. Maybe there was a mix-up. I think you may have my pajamas. Laughing

2-week trip to Thailand - got back this morning. My wife and I decided a vacation to Thailand with our 16-month-old would be the best present.

Sidenote: Xmas eve dinner on a resort island with all the trimmings you would expect at Xmas. Santa even made an appearance coming in from the sea on a speedboat, landing on the beach, and giving presents to all the kids there.

I got a visa run to Osaka and had a blast. I bought NICE things there for myself. I got treated to lunch by my head teacher and anoher free dinner at my fave bar, plus cake, and I'll be getting a late box of goodies from Mom and Dad.
