Hey guys being a great dictator I must call into being a doubt about this language. What is great about being a blood thirsty murderer who took satisfaction on gassing whole towns. It's like they say "The great War (meaning 1st world war), what was great about it? Do they mean BIG or brilliant or wow, what exactly do they mean by great. Suffocating in mud and gas in the somme while Joe your buddy gets blown to bits beside you was not, I assure you great. This language is almost like doublespeak (sic Georgey Orwell 1984) 4 legs good two legs bhaaad.

There are more people being murdered in Iraq under the current regime then when Sadam ruled the country. At least there was an economy and peace for most people to enjoy their lives. He did a better job than the current government. If I was living in Iraq I think i'd rather have the life before the war then the lives of people now.

Ah, yes, the tiresome Leftist rationale rears its ugly head again. Isn't it quaint how Westerners who fancy themselves progressive politically are so willing to tolerate fascism as long as it doesn't directly impact on their own lives. Here we see it used as an apology for the likes of Saddam Hussein and his henchmen. As for the dubious argument itself, no one knows how many Iraqis have been killed either during or since Saddam's ouster despite what the leftist human rights watch groups contend. And never mind that under Saddam the majority were persecuted by the minority and that there was no future prospect of egalitarianism. As bleak as the situation is now, there is a glimmer of hope. The Iraqis must decide for themselves (if the Iranians, Syrians, and Saudis will let them) whether they want to continue civil war. Even the Dictator himself seems to understand how that finally.
