i just started teaching level three of this book to a couple of private students. it's a nice enough book for teaching, but i can't figure out the audio. the book comes with a cd which has part A of all of the conversations in the book. the book has the text of part A, which is followed by part B, which just says "now listen to part B" and has a question about the content.
but the cd doesn't have a part B. there are also a lot of other things in the book which have a little audio symbol next to them, but are not on the cd.
is there another cd i'm supposed to buy? |

You need to buy the CD, not use the one that comes with the book. I think that is the students' version, you need to buy the teachers' CD. |

At one time, the audio was on cassettes.
I'm planning on using part of Intro B Interchange in my winter vacation classes, but can't locate my old cassette. Does anyone know if Kyobo (or anyone else) still sells these cassettes? |

All 3 teacher CDs per book come to a total of about 15,000 and are well worth the investment. |

the last time I bought one, 4 months ago at Kyobo, they had a big wack of them. 17,500 / CD So for the 3, you are talking 53,000 won. Not so cheap but yeah, worth the investment. I do miss a few of the old pieces cut out, especially the Jeopardy for practice with comparatives. Was a good listening exercise.....if anyone remembers that long ago

The Interchange Intro (yellow), 1 (red), and 2 (blue) are useful. Plenty of optional exercises, so one can cherry-pick depending on the level and length of classes. Good for uni conversation at freshman/sophomore levels. But the 3 (green) I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. The listening components are endless as well as boring. Perhaps Jack C. Richards got a little full of himself at that point. By the time students have that kind of proficiency, it's time to bring in free-talking, or at least, guided-talking, discussion topics. |
