There is an old Zen saying, "If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill the Buddha." |

| If we can ignore for a moment the, shall we say, evangelical pronouncements of one such as fiveeagle (whose beliefs I respect, if not endorse), and rteacher as well, that it is possible that this greater 'god' is beyond a mere 'Christian' god or a Jewish one, or the Allah version. What strikes me right about the Buddhist interpretation is to not incorporate the godhead into a single being. I think they have that right. The divine is within us all, call it what you will. And we, as the most sentient beings on this planet, have both the capacity and the responsibility to generate this connection within ourselves first, and, with any luck, with others. Forget the Mormons, well-dressed as they are. Forget the Jehova's Witnesses, as well-intentioned as they are. They've only got a part of the message, and that's what they're selling. The real deal happens when one finds an ambience, in one's own space, to relate to the unnamed and the unknowable. |

You may be a "coolsage", but you begin your last post with a conditional statement that ends in a period before completing the thought (indicative perhaps using artificial aids to meditation...? )
The pitfall of focusing entirely within for spiritual realization is to mistakenly identify ourselves as being God...
For the most part, we are qualitatively the same, but quantitatively there's really no comparison between the infinitessimal part and the Infinite Complete Whole ...
God reveals through the various bona fide traditions that He has many transcendental names, and He is can be reciprocally known according to our degree of devotional surrender ... |
