anyone know anything about this place? i spoke with john on the phone yesterday and he seemed trustworthy, but then he sent me an email saying "contract is contract, whats important is that we trust eachother." he made me a very good offer for my first time out, but its almost too good to be true. does anyone know of a reputable school in Incheon? Also, are employers receptive to signing 6 month contracts? thanks for reading...[/b]

Hopefully people will respond to my original post. I am supposed to leave at the end of January. I have been scared shiteless from all the horror stories Ive been reading on the internet. Im pretty confused because the three people I know who have taught/are teaching in Korea have said they have never had a problem. PLEASE HELP, GIVE ADVICE.

This is a common attitude here. Contracts are more of a western 'thing'. Koreans see no reason to continue an agreement as spelled out in a contract if conditions change. At times I can see the logic of that. However, all too often it seems, the 'changed conditions' just mean the boss has come up with a new idea and it rarely works in favor of the employee. There is no way to get away from that attitude here.

Ask this guy if he can put you in contact with someone who has worked for him.
