i can't play battlefield 1942 online - latency is too high. it seems there are no korean servers. i lost my copy of battlefield 2 along with the cdkey (i know there are korean servers).

so, what good fps games are popular in korea

Last I was in a PC bang, they were still playing Counter Strike.

Warrock - Corean knock off of BF2 (free)
Gears of War - Xbox360 (not a pure FPS though)
Counter Strike Source - most common online FPS played here.
Sudden Attack - Counter Strike like. I liked this one a lot. Extremely buggy but still lots of fun. (free)
Special Force - Counter Strike like. Extremely popular in SK. (free)

Most of these online games require a native Corean's id. Foreigner id doesn't seem to work.

BF2 is rstill pretty fun although the server is USUALY full. BF2142 is not bad either.

Play COD 2. You'll get a good ping on the servers.

Because so many FPS players here play at PC Bangs, and because so many of them have slightly low-end PCs, you see lots of people playing what look like bad hacks of Counter Strike. Fairly poor graphics and gameplay.

I sometimes play F.E.A.R. Combat, which is a free download. There are six or seven Korean servers up most of the time but they're usually empty. I can get decent connection speeds on Aussie servers though.

I play BF2 on the Taiwan or Singapore or Japanese servers. I get between 130 and 175 ms ping time. That is good enough.
I sometimes play BF2 EA KR server but that server is full at times. They have a total of 10 servers but most of them are empty. Only the first one is worth it.
I have to say one thing though, BF2 server browser is horrible. Does not give the accurate ping time.
But as of now its Wii time! Wii sports muhahaha!
