If I were to work in a Korean office I was told I would need an E7 visa.
Does anybody currently have an E7 and what exactly is required to get one.

I have heard that for an E7 you need two years work experience in that field to qualify. Can anyone verify that?

It is work that could justify the hiring of a foreigner, which I also heard was an important factor in getting a work visa.

From the ministry of justice website:

E7 Visas requirements

- Passport.

- Application form.

- Employment contract.

- Degree or certificate of qualification.

- Substantiating documents for the foundation of the pertinent company.

- Recommendation letter for employment from the Minister of pertinent Department or substantiating documents for the necessity of employment.

Bu a 90-day C4 visa may be easier to obtain if it is for short-term stay.

I have E-7.

You would need original diplomas, resume and make sure you have some work experience. 2 years is necessary. Company also has to write an official letter saying why to hire you and not someone else - so you have to be "special" to them, etc....whatever they BS there...

Company then applies for Certificate of Eligibility. 2 weeks later you will get it and then with it go outside Korea and get the visa in your passport same day. I am not sure back to your country or Japan would be OK.

In order for your employer to be able to get you a visa, they first must prove that only you can do this job and there are no Korean citizens who could do it as well as you. I'm a writing teacher and I make educational materials, and they turned us down.

I was technically illegal before I got hitched (there's another idea for you).

I came here on an E7. I was invited by the Ministry of Information and Technology.

The people at the Korean immigration in London were really annoying... they kept saying my visa had to be delayed because they had to ask for more confirmation blah blah blah from Seoul.

In the end they gave it to me but they were not entirely happy about it.. I still don't know why.

I've got an E7. I work for a mid-sized (80 people) company. Yes, you need 2 years experience, but no, they didn't check my credentials. Except maybe my degree, which was in the related field. They also called me up one day and did a little phone interview. I never heard that I had to be doing a job that no Korean could do, but I just kinda let the company handle the process.

I can't even remember, but it was nothing really substantial. I think it was stuff about my background and credentials and blah blah.

My impression of immigration is that if your company is a known entity and what you are doing is of a certain type (computer programmer, etc.) then you'll be OK. but if you try to get creative with them (it's a 6 month old company and you're a basket weaver) they won't like it.

I have an E7 and I had no trouble getting my visa. It mostly depends on how well your company prepares the documents for you. I work at a game dev company and its around 80 employees strong. The visa charge was around 50 USD for me. I did NOT get a multi entry visa. I think one has to make 3 business visits to KR to be eligible for multi entry visa. I am not sure about it though.
