|
|
The other day I was thinking about a video I'd seen a few years back of a guy getting his hands and one foot cut off for theft. I believe it happened in Saudi Arabia, but there are several countries which practice Shari'a Law's prescriptions.
I was unable to find the specific video that I'd seen years ago, but I did find this one, which is a compilation of several instances of the practice being carried out. If you choose to watch it, you will be shocked by the brutality. Since I saw the video years ago, the images have haunted me periodically, mostly because of the shocking way in which the procedure is carried out (barn-style room, big knife, ropes around wrists, blue towel..).
The actual prescription is for the right hand and left foot to be hacked off. However, one of the video shows both hands and one foot. After the procedure, the victim has to walk to a truck.
So, without further ado, here is the video in question. Please, do NOT watch it if you have a weak stomach. As I said, it has haunted me for years, and I almost wish I'd never seen it. So please use discretion.
Compilation of Islamic amputations.
The video is from this web site: Apostate of Islam.
From that site:
Quote: |
Cutting of Hands and Feet is a cruel insane Islamic punishment given to people who steal. This punishment was ordered by the "merciful" Allah and practiced by the "Holy" Prophet.
Besides Quran 5:33 and 5:38, many hadiths including Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim give proof that cutting of hands was ordered by Mohammed, for example:
Book 38, Number 4396:
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:
A thief was brought to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him). He said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft, Apostle of Allah! Then he said: Cut off his hand. So his (right) hand was cut off.
More historical references exist in Bukhari Volume 8, Book 81: Number 774, 779, 780, 791 and Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 38, Number 4356, 4357, 4367 etc.
|
I was reading on the BBC that one guy in Nigeria lost his right hand for stealing three bicycles. Another guy for stealing a cow.
Really, I cannot fathom the pain and terror that an amputation victim unergoes. It turns my stomach, and makes me lose hope for humanity. |

Yes, Islam is a peaceful religion, and the Koran is a peaceful book
and Islam treats women with the utmost respect
and women want to have their faces covered
I wonder if a jihad can be declared on a website? or on a poster on a website?
Question to those in-the-know:
While the middle east has dominated by the west, and Israel, for the last century, while they lost palestine, got invaded, got beat down, got hit by multiple earthquakes, etc. and had hundreds if not thousands die during the hajj, was that Allah's will being done? What, was Allah asleep? Was he on vacation? Was he off with his 89 virgins? Please explain how the Mullah's explain this, anyone. |

It was the same Allah who did this:
The 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon Earthquake, took place on November 1, 1755, at 9:40 in the morning. It was one of the most destructive and deadly earthquakes in history, killing between 60,000 and 100,000 people. The quake was followed by a tsunami and fire, resulting in the near-total destruction of Lisbon. The earthquake accentuated political tensions in Portugal and profoundly disrupted the country's eighteenth-century colonial ambitions.
The event was widely discussed by European Enlightenment philosophers...
The earthquake shook much more than cities and buildings. Lisbon was the capital of a devout Catholic country, with a history of investments in the church and evangelism in the colonies. Moreover, the catastrophe struck on a Catholic holiday and destroyed almost every important church. For eighteenth-century theology and philosophy, this manifestation of the anger of God was difficult to explain.

All religions are guilty of crap like this if as twg says "you let the relgion do the thinking for you"..
all of them might not lob off hands, but if they have too much influence, relgion's barbarism usually overtakes common sense and respect for your fellow man. |

Well yeah, the inquisition was so much more reasonable. Not to mention standing outside funerals shouting "God hates fags!"
Long and the short: If fundamentalist Christians had as much cultural control as the Islamic fundamentalists do in the middle east, we'd be seeing similar "justice". Disagree if you'd like, personally I'd be happy having this claim remain unproven.

Ancient Judaism practiced capital punishment. This is a form of capital punishment, is it not? I consider it backward. The difference is Jews have clearly moved away from things like stoning centuries and centuries ago.
The Muslim population has not moved away from it in a more direct way though no Arab countries practice stoning. Most Arab countries do not practice cutting the hands. There is only one Arabic state that does that, and it is Kuwait. So only one Arabic country out of 22 chooses to follow that. So in a sense, they don't believe they have to follow that ordinance. So let us not blow this out of proportion. However, it is a barbaric practice and people need to clearly break away from that. |
