How many of you teach English classes in hogwans and like me you have to plan classes, mark tests, and mark journals? Am I one of the few or many in this regard? |

I think most everyone has to do these things. |

I'm not teaching in a hagwon any longer, but I never did much of the planning (unless I wanted to) and marking (except for midterm and final tests). The only journals were kept by advanced students and their Korean teachers (after consulting me) marked them. As I understood it, the native teacher just taught straight from the book and provided the students with an English only classroom experience. |

I plan my classes if I feel like it, but if I don't, I can just wing it out of the book. I'll be honest, some days I put more effort into planning than other days.
I do workbook grading for some of my classes. I'd say I have about 6 or 7 batches of homework a week, but it takes me very little time to grade. Some of the older students also do journals which I mark half the time and the Korean teachers mark the other half of the time. Occasionally I assign additional homework to my advanced classes, so of course I have to mark that.
Overall, very little of my time is spent grading. |

You are a teacher. Teachers mark their student's work.
Deal with it. |

It seems that Pak Yu Man could do with a grammar brush-up before giving further advice to "teacher's" who mark their "student's" work.
Hope he can deal with it. |

Yes, I do all of these things, often unpaid and at home in the evenings. During one program last term I had 20 learning journals, 20 writing journals, and 10 audio journals WEEKLY, on top of grading homework and exams. Teaching is half-admin work. |
