Wow, nice call, Mr. Teacher. Looks like good pizza, and what about those rugelaches? They look incredible.
Oh hold on.. I just called them to find out about shipping costs. The guy said they don't ship internationally, and this is a direct quote, "Because it's real expensive, and especially since it's pizza, we really don't like to do it. Okay?"
Outrageous and.. disappointing. |

No,
I am totally against importing traditional NY-style pizza to Korea.
1. They don't deserve such a delight.
2. It would the ultimate in commercialization of a great tradition that should be kept where it is and should make people want to travel to NY to entice themselves in a truly great delicacy....
Screw Globalization!
KEEP NY PIZZA IN NY!!~! |

Of course, Wikipedia has an article on pizza, including a couple records for longest deliveries. However, I'm pretty sure that I recently saw an article somewhere that said a new record has just been set by a delivery made to Japan (I'm not sure from where, though...)
Most of the really long deliveries were tied in to charities. I think we should try to work that angle and get some pizza company in the U.S. to set a new Guinness World Record by shipping some to Seoul ...
Here's an excerpt from the Wikipedia:
Records
The largest pizza ever made was at the Norwood Pick 'n Pay Hypermarket in Johannesburg, South Africa. According to the Guinness Book of Records the pizza was 37.4 meters in diameter and was made using 500 kg of flour, 800 kg of cheese and 900 kg of tomato puree. This was accomplished on December 8th 1990.
On 22 March 2001, Bernard Jordaan of Butler's Pizza, Cape Town, South Africa, delivered a pizza 11042 km (6861 miles) from Cape Town to Sydney, Australia, to set the world record for the longest pizza delivery. This record was acknowledged in the Guinness Book of Records.
In Feltham, London, a new record for the farthest food delivery was achieved by Lucy Clough of Domino's. A vegetarian supreme pizza was cooked on November 17, 2004 and travelled a distance of 10,532 miles to its delivery point at 30 'Ramsey Street', Melbourne, on November 19, 2004. The record will appear in the 2006 version of the book of Guinness World Records.
The world record for eating pizza was set in 2006 when Cristian Dumitru of Romania (currently residing in Vancouver, WA.) ate his own body weight, over 200 pounds, over the course of a week. Former record holder Takeru Kobayashi disputed the new record claiming that the pizza eaten by Mr. Dumitru had a sauce-cheese ratio too low to be considered pizza. Mr. Dumitru has since issued an open "fastest man to 50 pounds" challenge that Mr. Kobayashi, of hot dog eating fame, has yet to accept.

| That wouldn't be a bad idea. I wonder how many pizzas it would take for them to deliver. I didn't look at the web site yet, but I would order a couple of subs as well. |

| Why don't you open a NY pizza restaurant in Korea? If Starbucks can bring Seattle style coffee here, well, why can't someone bring NY pizza? |

Too much capital needed, perhaps?
BTW there is a shop that claims to do NY pizza. Highly debatable, but the pizza is still decent enough for like a by-the-slice lunch. It's in Itaewon. |

I guess too that there are heavy duties imposed on importing food into this country. They would have to use mostly domestic ingrediants which wouldn't work at all on NY pizza.
But maybe if the Free Trade Agreement passes.... |

I'd settle for Chicago deep dish right about now.
Or Rocky Roccoco's in Madison to the north.
Costco's single slice served pizza is a joke. You must be sniffing kimchee. |

| There's a Sabarro's Pizza in the food court in Co-Ex mall. Pretty good NY style pizza without the Korean adulterations. No corn! |
