|
|
I quit my teaching job....but I want to stay here still, and will be doing so on a military sponsored visa(A-3). However, I cannot get that new A-3 visa until I get my other E-2 cancelled first. This was what I was told at the immigration place at Osan Air Base. And they cannot cancel it for me(they don't have the authority to do that), so I must go to Suwon immigration.
My question is: how do I get the E-2 cancelled? Do I need some kind of letter stating that I didn't get fired or run away from my job? I don't want to go all the way to Suwon and wait hours and hours to be told that I need some kind of letter from my employer, etc. |

I think you need a letter of release from your employer yeah. I'm hoping you didn't leave in bad circumstances....

Two ways:
1) get a Letter of Release from your E2 employer
or
2) go down to Immigration WITH your boss and have him cancel it in front of the Immigration officer.
Note: your ex-boss is under no obligation to do either. If he wants to be an ass about it (if you parted ways under less than pleasant circumstances), then he can refuse to cancel the visa, and you can't get another one until the E2 expires on its own, whenever the contract dates say it expires. |
