RIGHT! 
I have been in Kauai for the past week, Heaven on earth!!!!!
Thought I would check out this sight to see what the screeeches are up to!
Married life is FANTASTIC! But I think the best part is the communication. My husband is funny and after having to speak in easy sentences for the past long months with my co-workers, I have learned that it is pure gold to speak and have someone understand you the first time around and not repeat, repeat slow, repeat very slow, draw pictures......'
Do I miss Korea.......not at all. Actually I really loved Japan and Thailand! My ex roomie taught in Japan and fell in love with the culture. We visited her for a few days and we both loved her little town! The people were awesome, the food was so cool, and now I wished I had done my coop there. But let bygones be bygones, the main thing I feel is a sense of FREEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!!
I can come back, look at the posts.(today they were so EXCITIING...let me see, one guy talking about not being able to sit on the subway, one weblink to a korean woman who was kicked in the stomach by her husband, one guy posted about pantyhose in the sink, black outs , one guy calls recruiters snakes......WHAT EXCITING LIVES YOU ALL LIVE! 
Well, happy new year screeches, I hope you are all having fun teaching the wonderful kids in the freezing cold! Hey, next time you see a pile of vomit or spit, or are pushed, or have some car pull out and almost hit you, or have a blue truck or motor bike honk at you, or have the middle school kids come up and bother you, or have a bunch of people stare at you, or have the directors take some of your money or ask you to profreed something for free, or have to explain yourself when you accidently said something to a Korean that maybe hurt their feelings because they get offended so easy (yes, you are a GREAT big country, and you are SO WONDERFUL!) (ha ha, married guys) REMEMBER how great it is!~ Ha Ha Ha.
I will check in sometimes to rattle your cages! Time to go out and enjoy the warm tropical air now!

Sounds like you stayed here until the end of your rope.
You should have left earlier while you still had a more positive image of Korea.
I reckon with most foreigners, in time you'll either love or hate this place. Some of the longtermers love it. It's without a doubt a challenging country to live in. The different manners and way of live Koreans have has caused me to question everything I know about people. This is perhaps the greatest gift Korea has given me. I am hoping to leave this country with a more balanced opinion of it. But to get this, it takes work and an open mind. If you don't have these, you'll wind up leaving Korea like the O.P. Very bitter. |

What are "Screeches"?
Why is this woman writing to a forum on I presume is her honeymoon? Is the sex that bad?
"Wish I did my coop in Japan". Groan.
I bet she's in her mid 20s, had been pampered all her life, came to Korea and couldn't deal with not being everyone's center of attention, and now is married and is soon if not already is due for a huge reality check when she finds out her husband expects to be fawned over, not the other way around.
I give her 6 months until she has itchy feet. |

Just because your experience in Korea was bad doesn't negate others. How self-indulgent can you be?
I lived on Kaua'i, almost the size of O'ahu, less crowded and more scenic, especially the north shore.
But I've got a tip for you, if you plan to teach there, be prepared for lots of lazy as*s kids and a substandard public school system.
Then again, perhaps your new hubby will take care of you.

You're f'n ignorant. I wonder why non-native english speakers speak in slow, broken sentences.....hmmm.... You know, when you're in KOREA you should try n speak some KOREAN. Did that ever cross your mind? Maybe u didn't want to speak Korean and reveal that non-native language learners speak slow, broken sentences.
