Sorry I made a mistake of asking if they were good at hockey, should be ice hockey. Good at staying on the ice.

They're not too bad at hockey itself, world rank number 16 below Egypt.

Field hockey is a woman's game. Hockey is Ice hockey, no need for the word ICE. Field hockey is for women.

Hahaha you're funny.

Try real hockey once and you'll think ice hockey is like a walk in a skating rink.

Are you gonna lend me your skirt? Have you even ever seen hockey?? One of the dumbest statements I've ever read.

You obviously know nothing about hockey.

In ice hockey you have to wear a stackhat to play, real men don't wear shit like that.

For the third year in a row (and 7th time in the last 10 years) Canada will play Russia in the gold medal game at the WJHC.

Today's shootout win over the US was probably the most exciting game I've watched in years.

How would the Americans fare in a ten game series? Be objective and do not flame me for asking the question.

Thank you, and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Going by today's game (a real nail-biter...or it would've been if someone didn't spoil the game by putting the result in the thread title), it could quite possibly be a 5-5 split. While we (Canadians) have a soft-spot for the Canada-Russia rivalry, it is probably more true to say that our closest rivals are soon going to be (if not already) the Americans. That's not to say that the Swedes, Czechs or Fins aren't contenders, it's saying that these days a Canada-US match is going to be a barn burner. Both teams will get WAY up for the game. I'm going to miss the Downie-Johnson rivalry though. I also can't wait to see Jonathan Toews in the NHL.

The commentators for the Canada-US semi-final game were saying that if you put those two teams in an NHL rink and had a 20 game series, you'd sell out each one. 20,000 people (a sellout) watched Canada-US in Vancouver last year. The 50-50 draw winner took home $10,000. It was pretty wild.

Field Hockey is definitely one of the most effeminate games out there. Only girls play it.

The Germans and Australians tops the ranking for best hockey teams.

They also make great cars and really know how to drink.

And by the way, girls wear shoulder pads.

Australians make great cars?? I didn't know that. Stick to soccer, Koreans are great at diving so just put on you're skirt and flop around like you've just been shot.

Rocklee sez: "You guys really know nothing about hockey."

That is incorrect. We know a lot about hockey, but very little about fairy hockey-oops-I mean field hockey.

Try telling this guy :

6'11" former hockey defenseman now playing in the NBA.

Some additional facts :

- Men's hockey has been playing since 1908 where India won 8 times. They made an amazing 178-7 run during that time. Name any team in any sport to have that kind of scoreline over the competition.

- Formally, hockey was played on grass where the Indians and Pakistanis were so dominant. When the game changed to artificial turf, it ultimately ended their rein on the game because they couldn't afford such expensive materials.

- Women only started to play from 1980, Australia winning 3 times.

- Hockey is played in 132 countries and is the second most popular team sport after soccer.

- The playing field is 55 metres by 91 metres. How big is your skating rink again?

- Real hockey players run and never seem to stop running like in other real sports like Soccer.

- South Korea lost by 1 goal for the gold medal to the Netherlands in the 2000 Olympic games. They lost just one game for the entire competition.

And one more for ice hookee :

- Seven out of every ten hockey-playing Canadians will lose a tooth during a game. For Canadians who don't play hockey, that figure drops to five out of ten.

Funnily enough, I played like one season of hockey back in high school and found it harder and more dangerous than Aussie rules.

Real hockey is the fastest team sport in the world.

Also, real hockey is the number one sport at the Winter Olympics. How does field hockey rank??
