|
|
My close friend is having extreme back pain,
causing pain throughout his legs, neck, shoulders.
HE HAS NOT SLEPT FOR 4 DAYS DUE TO THE PAIN.
Anyone knows the Korean doctors SUCK, they can only
prescribe half-ass pills that don't work.
I need to get him tranquilizers to get him to sleep and
relax his body. I want to know if anyone knows of a Doctor
who will prescribe TRANQUILIZERS...
It is so serious, he wants to end his life soon and planning
his final exit in life. He needs a PSYCHOTHERAPIST AS WELL.
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE! Person to contact.

Where is your friend located???
Try a pain management clinic. They are great at stopping pain and quality of life issues. |

It sounds very bad indeed. I think this person may need to be in hospital. I know you probably won't need to but if you overstate the pain and anxiety perhaps they will admit him/her and their will be some relief. Has this person had this before and how long did it last?
I really don't know anything about Korean hospitals though. I am sure someone else here has had more experience and will advise you.
Give the person who advised the pain management clinic a PM maybe? |

Halcyon is sleep medication.
Many doctors will prescribe it if you ask for it. |

|

I brought 10 bottles of Melatonin (herb)
for sleep about 6 months ago.
They are quite impossible to get in Korea.
The normal dose is 1~2 tablets for sleep.
But he's taken 6 ~ 10 of those and still can't sleep.
He's a walkin ZOMBIE not really sleeping, just
in a stupor all the time. Is Halcyon any stronger?
He sure wasted lots of money on stupid Korean meds. |

| Be careful with Halcyon. It will induce sleep but it can also produce hallucinations. It's not for everywhere. I'm sure at this point, the hallucinations would be preferable to no sleep. I hate to suggest this but how about drinking until he blacks out (under supervision). |

| Korean doctors won't be fooled by your attempt to score, simply because you are Jonesing. Maybe your friend should go back to Canada for his doobie cigarettes. Korea doesn't need your kind! |

You're probably totally right!! No one on this earth has ever had a problem getting to sleep. Especially in South Korea...I've heard - don't know if it's true or not - that's it's against the law not to get a good night's sleep in Korea. |

I've heard that the international clinic in itaewon will provide good drugs, including anti-psychotics. I haven't been there myself, but the website is in English, and you can make a reservation online :
http://www.internationalclinic.co.kr/
Personally, I order zolpidem (Ambien) over the internet and have it shipped in. They presecribe it in Korea under the name stilnox. Write zolpidem/stilnox on a paper and have your friend take it to the doctor and request it specifically.
The melatonin isn't going to work if your friend has serious problems. There have been other threads on here about psychiatric care, so do some more searching. |

| In Korea doctors will generally not prescribe good effective pain medications because they believe them to be narcotics and have the same negative effects as illegal drugs. I had a friend that had major surgery in Korea and he kept complaing how he was in so much pain but the doctors wouldn't give him any narcotic pain killers. They would only give him weak dodgy shots in the arse that only increased his pain due to all the poking in his arse. |
