Does anyone know where you can get golden retriever puppies in South Korea? Does anyone have a golden retriever here?
Thanks

Such a big dog. Wow, you must be planning on staying here for a long time and have a massive place.

We have a mix and i've seen MANY GRs around.

I have seen many around. I'd suggest you go to a bigger dong mool and ask a vet if he knows a breader.

I'll be around here for another 3 years or so. I'm glad to hear there are GR's around. I usually only see the boot-wearing-hair-dyed-mini-dogs around.
Thx for the info

Please consider a different breed if your not planning on staying here very long or not going to take the dog with you where you go. GR's are extremely loving and loyal and it would break the dogs heart if you were to leave it. They are a HUGE commitment, I hope you like walking because you'll be doing a lot of that!

I did not see a Golden Ret with any non-foreigner here. So I am quite unsure if there are any breeders. I may be wrong though.
On the other hand, I did see a Gold. Ret. @ an animal shelter called "Karama". They have a lot of dogs. You should give a try there if you are ok with adopting an abandoned/lost dog.

A few Alaskan Malamutes:

Also KAPS, Daegu can help you with finding a dog of your choice.

A good guide in this aspect would be Karen www.lonelylifetime.com

My first dog was a Golden. They are fantastic pets, but I echo what others have said. GR's are big, active dogs that require a lot of room and a lot of exercise. I would think twice about getting one in Korea. Besides, there are plenty of mutts desperate for a good home in this country.

The shelters are the way to go. Most dogs in Korea are really, really, small dogs since people live in such small places.

A mother and pup are advertised in the Boogak grocery store in Seongbuk-dong as having been found and so would be looking for a home....

I don't know if they have Golden Retrievers, but if you go to Chungmuro station and walk toward Dongdaemun station, there are many, many pet/puppy stores on the right side of the street. I saw many different breeds walking by.

I checked out Chungmuro(?) and got a yellow lab. I took her in to see a vet and he sid she was healthy. Verry cute!! The vet recommended that when buying a dog... you should not buy it in Chungmuro because of the short incubation period and disease.
Although, I asked the vet what kind of dog it was, and he said a golden retriever....lol
Thanks for all the replies.
