the hangeul characters are:

사우나--- sauna

목욕탕--- public bath

They are everywhere.
You pay at the counter, have a shower first, then plant yourself in different types of sauna rooms and bath waters, and have little kids point at your *beep* while their parent stares.

What's a respectable massage, you mean they close their eyes while they massage you?

I wouldn't mind getting a night job as a masseuse in the girls sauna, though. I wouldn't need that little plastic basket w/ all the lotions in it, if you know what I mean..

찜질방 is a nice place if you don't mind people staring at you. I usually don't mind when they give me those elevator eyes. (I'm sure they're staring at my tattoo and not my 8- Wink

I like those places, but the thing is, the water is not filtered or chorinated in thos eplaces, which equals GERMS to the umpteenth degree! I heard about someone catching crabs from towels in a sauna. Imagine how humiliating it would be to go to a pharmacy to get treatment for crabs. You would probably be thought of as a dirty foreigner who sleeps around, not as someone who caught crabs innocently from a sauna's dirty towel.

Ha! If you look anything like that avatar of yours, getting laid is the last thing you are doing. Thank you for your un-asked for comment. You don't even know me, so piss off! Crawl back into your hole!

Lol that link claims that jimjilbang massages are from people of your gender. He's going to the wrong places.

And yes OP, the happy endings are great! I know youre a standup guy and all that, but we all know that was the real question.

Jjimjilbangs will have same-sex masseuses. The places that you're thinking about are 안마s, where some also have sauna facilities. Some daeddalbangs and upscale barbershops will also have bathhouses.
