Kim Jong Il, he's a little-known short man who collects dvd's and terrorizes the communist state to our North. What rock do you live under? Did you know that the WTC was hit by airplanes? WWII ended and the Jews have their own state in the Middle East? Britney Spears got divorced?

well, you clearly knew who I was talking about. If I made a post about J-Lo instead of Jennifer Lopez, would you be wasting your time trying being obnoxious about that, too? Let's duke it out.

J-Lo is a well known nickname for jennifer Lopez. Kim Jong is not a nickname for Kim Jong Il.

now it is. am i not allowed to make up nicknames, particularly when it is blatantly obvious who they refer to? find a hobby other than scouring eslcafe for things you find slightly offensive. or, we can duke it out, as i suggested earlier.

it wasnt obvious at all. Kim Jong isnt even a nickname. Its like saying Geroge Bus is a nickname for George Bush.

no, it's like saying george w. is a nickname for george w bush, which is it. saying kim jong i is a nickname for kim jong il would be like saying george bus is a nickname for george bush, which then begs the question: which george bush are you talking about?

Newbie, learn a bit about Korean names. Jong Il is his given name. Omiting the Il isnt like dropping a middle initial. Its like Not writing half a name. So in the Bush case its like sayong Geo Bush but really that doesnt really compare.

Actually, it's not even his real name. His real name is Юрий Ирсенович Ким (Yuri Irsenovich Kim).
