Wondering how heavy they're fixed on people having a degree...
I have a Diploma (3 yr) in Business & Computing, and 7 years experience in my field (Accounts Payable). Does my experience, and age (30) have any impact on the degree requirement?
Its just that I've seen so many posts and ads that point out the degree factor, and yet I wonder is it really that necessary... Can I get a working Visa without having a full degree? Cheers for any info.

What is the difference between a 'degree' and 'diploma' as you stated it?
As far as I know, you need an undergraduate degree. That's the minimum for an E2 visa. Now, I don't know if it has to be a four your school..and I don't know about any other type of visas. |

You need a minimum of a B.A to get a degree.
To Korean immigration, that's a 4 year degree.
Or marry a Korean girl, be Korean or invest serious money in Korea.
Those are the only ways you can get a VISA to work legally in Korea.
Did I miss any? |

Actually a 3-year BA is acceptable. Many UK unis only give out 3-year BAs.
Dress sexy, become a poledancer, and get your "entertainment" visa. |

being a 6ft 3inch tall, slim white guy, I doubt I'd be all that popular. I could be the poll I suppose....

I think the problem would be in the wording. My qualification is a Diploma and states it on the document. Anyone looking for a Degree (especially gov types) will look at the Diploma word, and go "this is not a degree". Pity really. Teaching in Korea sounded very appealing. Unfortuently working in my current profession in the US seems the next best option. It'll still be a big change from my current life in Ireland. |

Do you have any other qualifications?
My godmother doesn't have a degree as such but loads of other qualifications that would give her an equivalent of an MA and she managed to get a job and a visa here a few years ago (she was in her 50s at the time, too!).
Perhaps if you could convince some place to hire you and go through the whole immigration process, you could get to work here? |

When I got my F-2 I was specifically told
1) no Prostitution
2) dancing/sex industry
3) bartending
I think you need to be Russian to get the "Entertainment Industry" VISA.
That's why they have those people with funny accents on TV pretending to be native speakers.

You need a B.A. from a recognized University in an English speaking country. Period.
This can be a 3 or 4 year degree as long as it is a B.A. from a recognized university.
If you do not have this B.A. your age and experience will not allow you to circumvent the requirement. |

no need to be recognized, as long as its a degree you will be fine. Degree from any university will do. |
