I have my married name on degree and transcripts and since I divorced since graduating have another family name. When dealing with the Japanese immigration I used to show them the official change of name certificate that I have. Will this work in Korea? |

it's a crap shoot. To say anything will 'work' in this country regarding the ESL industry is dubious. Ask the same question, to the same person on consecutive days and you're not likely to get the same answer.
Legally it should be of no issue, though. |

You shouldn't have a problem - I also have different names on my degree and my passport: maiden and married. I think they understand. |

And of course Korean women do not change their family name on marriage. That should make it clear. |

No they don't. If they did everyone would be a Kim, Lee or Park by now.
Well the other 25% would be then
Stupid joke aside it's a big pain in the a$$ to get your name changed. There is a mountain of paper work and you'll still need the permission of the government. Unless you have a name like my username, the government will ay no. |

You know whats funny? I just realised that I actually have a different first name on my passport than on my degree. I didn't have any problems with it. |
