Hello, can anyone tell me where I could find tortillas, oregano, chili powder, kidney beans, sour cream etc. in Pusan. Please do not tell me to check Pusan web or to just go out and look. |

Tortilla chips and salsa can be found at Aram-Mart. For the others I would try Carrefour (Dongbaek or near Dadaepo). French Baguette has cream cheese and they might have sour cream.
There's a little club in Nampo-Dong near the Subway Sandwich called the Joy Club which has a menu of Mexican food, including nachos and burritos. It's not bad. Wish I'd brought mole with me!

Many supermarkets have bagged dried kidney beans, and every shijang I've ever been to has had at least one grain merchant selling them. And no, I am not referring to the little azuki-type beans.
You may be able to make a sour creamish-type thing by thinning cream cheese with milk or plain yogurt. I've never tried that, but it seems to me it should work. Before I moved to Seoul I used to make plain yogurt and drain the whey off through paper towel until it was as thick as sour cream, and that worked pretty well, too. It's healthier to do it like that, if you want to take the trouble. |
