Drivers (especially motorbikes) running red lights.
Where are the police in this country?
In North America, they'd be at donut shops.
In Korea, where? Maybe late night baraber shops?  |

Failing that, try the all-night kamjatang joint behind my building. They're the ones lying on top of the tables (must be some hierarchical dynamic going on there, dunno). |

Do you find it strange why the police cars always have their lights on?? The reason is that people/drivers will see the police coming well in advance and stop if they are doing an illegal activity. Therefore the police have less work to do. I'm not making this up, I was told this by Koreans.

1) Many crimes in Korea go unreported. Crimes are often resolved through blood money or "family agreements."
2) Most foreigners can't understand Korean so don't watch Korean news or newspapers where crimes are reported. |

Seeing as nothing says "welcome" like a massive police presence; hopefully they'll stay where ever they are. Just me, but I'd rather see private DVD stands in Yongsan than para-military troopers on every corner.
