I have an interview this week for a job at a public high school. The recruiter just told me they want me to do a mock lesson, on any topic I want. Gee, piece of cake! I haven't taught high schoolers in Korea before, so I'm not completely sure what an appropriate level for the lesson should be. Does anyone have any ideas on a good topic? & any tips on things to remember during a mock lesson, or ways to make it better?
I've done one before, for elementary level, but they gave me a topic. It was a little disconcerting teaching multiplication to 6 adults, though.
Thanks!

Nobody?? Really? My interview is tomorrow, and I still don't have an idea of what to do the sample lesson on. Can any high school teachers out there give me some idea of what they're teaching/have taught this year? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

It was just 15 minutes for me.They really just want to see you at the front of the class and in control of the class. It's holidays too,so expect just 10 sudents?

Just give them a basic thing we're you're explaining(talk slowly),students are doing something together,and you're checking.

It could be a short role play,a personal information seeking exercise,a board game practicing some grammar function etc.

Very quickly the Principal will say that'll do.It'll be over before you know it.

Thanks so much for the tips, rothkowitz! So it'll probably be with actual students?! The one I had to do for an elementary school was just with some of the teachers pretending to be students.
I was thinking about printing an newspaper article out, having different students read a few sentences or a paragraph, going over words they don't know or some of the important words, and then discussing it. I'm just afraid I'll completely misjudge their English level, and just get blank stares!
