Hi:
I have a Cort electric, M600, that has a great, bluesy humbucker sound. I like it a lot, but it's my first electric and after a year with it I'm ready to try something different.
I was wondering if someone on this board can recommend a Korean-made guitar that comes close to the legendary Fender Stratocaster sound. I just can't justify 1,500 or 1,800 bucks for the real thing, so a close copy will do if the quality is very good.

Thanks

Cool

Go to Nakwon arcade and just try any guitars that look like a Strat! If it has 3 single coil pick-ups and a 5-way switch then it should sound like a Strat.

I don't live in Seoul, so I'm hoping someone can recommend the makes and models to look for so as to narrow things down somewhat.

Go in and talk to Steve Kim at MD guitars. He's an awesome guitar luthier and does custom work and can help you get what you need. He's located in Hongdae Exit #4.

There are so many makes and models. Don't worry so much about make or model. Just look for the Strat design. 3 single-coils and a 5-way switch. Then, if it's nice and playable and sexy looking I would just go for it. You shouldn't have to pay more than 500,000 won for a decent Strat copy.

If you're happy with your Cort M-Series, why not take a look at their G-Series?
