What are the equivalencies to American bra sizes? I'm a 36B, so I don't think I should have a hard time finding bras here, but I really don't know how the sizing works!

You're 75C.

Look for "Aimer Feel". They might now be going back to COEX because they're finishing the renovations there. There's another one in Myeong Dong, near the Aidia shoe store, close to the cathedral.

Let the gals in there go nuts with their tape measures. It's not molestation, it's getting a proper fit. They're good - and they've got decent (but still padded) t-shirt style bras in plain black, white, and beige. All you need.

Yeah, molestion is when they "guesstimate" with a full-on goosing. Thanks, lady. I never did get her name...

I remember one of my Korean friends saying that ample-chested women tend to be dumb. Thanks for the compliment.

'Big t*ts no brains' is still a common prejudice in the West. I remember times when I'd explain that I studied Mathematics at University, and people's eyes would go straight down to my bust, and back up to my face again in amazement. Very Happy

Simone, that's good to know; I'm an 30E cup, European. It's about time there's a shop for ample-busted women!

I do wish you luck. I've seen cups there go up to F, but who knows what that means?!? They do let you try on and they insist on going in there - they adjust your straps and everything...

It's nice to find such ladies taking pride in their work.

Bras beyond A cup are hard to come by. It used to infuriate me when shopgirls would insist I'm an A cup just so that I'd buy. Needless to say the only A cup bra I bought out of desperation only got one wear... (I'm inbetween B and C)

I used to shop with LG shopping channel(the channel with all the russian models strutting around) and they go up to D cups and the quality seems really good. They fit me really well. The only downside is you have to buy the whole set they offer and the bottom sizes match the bra sizes so you can't buy a 38D bra and size 8 undies. I bought a 5-set 'Le Meilleur' from LG for 100000w, and another set from some other brand for 90000w with 2 matching undies per bra, and I still wear them in England 3 years later!

My roommate during my first year in Korea and I would go shopping for bras for her when we were bored. She wore something like a 38 H. You should have seen the poor girls try to find something that would fit her, "No, honey. For me? That's just a B. That's for you". Laughing Laughing

Ahhh...thank you. I'm not really near any large cities to speak of, so I may just have to wait until I make a trip out of my little area. Still, good to know what size I should be shooting for. Thanks muchly!

That stupid attitude is even more common in Korea than in the West. Though here, I think "unquestioned article of faith" would be closer than "common prejudice". At least as far as Korean women are concerned.

Bras and the way they fit...can make you run the gamut of feelings Embarassed Shocked Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad and so on...a bit of crying is not unheard of in a particularily bad bra shopping day. During my Uni days I was one of the bra-fitting girls. I am quite heartened to hear of so many women trying to find the right size as I recall spending what seemed an inordinate amount of time trying to convince women that 34B was not the bestest size in the universe and that though she was 34B at 15, at 40, things had changed a bit (all without being yelled at, cryed upon or laughed at). fun Job.

Measure around your rib cage, make sure that it is straight and low enough on the back that you are not squeezed up right underneath the assets. a bit lower and you will get a better fit with no "ride". In inches you want to add 5 to the measurment ie: 31" = 36 band width. Depending on the way of measuring a 36 can also be a 90 or an 80. Some add some to the measurement, some don't. You just end up having to eyeball it.

I agree with whoever suggested that you get measured...easiest way to get the right fit in the country of purchase. Otherwise..if you have someone from the US that can ship things to you - the Gap Body bras are really very comfortable and affordable. Very basic but good. Also look for the sister sizes. 36B = 34C 32B =34A etc. it sometimes helps. If you are a snug 36B look at a 38A.

Right. That was ramble. If anyone has questions, I can talk you through all sorts of measurements since I studied a fair bit of constume design and construction at Uni and the unfortunate bra job.

http://www.aimerfeelkorea.co.kr/fgh.htm

That's their FGH cup size corner. Excellent website, lots of photos.

I'm sure if you had a Korean friend call, you could find out the location closest to you, with the widest selection of sizes.

Confucious says: One's IQ dips in direct inverse proportion to one's cup size.

Such a rational observation!

Yeah, it's bizarre the way so many Asians think they can devine something about your personality and intellect based purely on physical attributes.

Koreans also call women with ample chests "cows." Confused And you don't need much to be 'ample' in the Hermit Kingdom. I think I've only ever seen one Korean girl with a 'handful' on her.

Aimer Feel is back at COEX!

So the ladies can go there after their "ladies lunch" in Feb.

It's a bit hard to find - it's in a section called "Mille"... In a similar spot to where it used to be but you have to down a different corridor. If you can find "Hair Satin", the hair salon there, and Noolboo Budae Chigae, you'll see "Mille" nearby.

And I walked in and they were ready with their tape measures. I hated to disappoint them - I was just taking a short walk after lunch.
