Ok. I am leaving for home (Halifax, Nova Scotia) on Friday, and I have the pleasure of flying Air Canada
Here's my stupid question. My flights go from Seoul to Vancouver, Vancouver to Toronto, then Toronto to Halifax. Do I have to pick up my bags in each city before boarding the next flight? How do I find this out? I don't have much time for connections.
I know it's a dumb question, but I'm hardly a travel expert. Thanks so much! |

Normally they check you through....
They will confirm it with you when you check in.
You could call Air Canada and ask, though. |

| They'll tell you when you go to the airport and check your bags the first time where they are going. If they go to the final destination your ticket stub will also list out what cities they are going through. Not all airlines have luggage go directly through, so it depends on who you're flying. |

Depends on where you will change to the domestic terminal.
When you arrive in Vancouver, if that is where you are transferring to the domestic terminal, you will have to pick up your bags and go through customs/immigration and re-check them in at the domestic terminal. ..but then I would say from then on they would check your bags right through to your final destination. |

Thanks for the tips - I'm hoping they go right though, cause I've only got an hour and a half to catch my connecting flight to Toronto. I guess I'll find out soon enough
Thanks guys! |

Yeah... I'm sure I had that exact same flight two years ago. My plane was late to Vancouver and I missed the connection to Toronto, but ended up on another flight which still allowed me to catch the original Toronto-Halifax flight. They only lost one piece of luggage, too. Have fun!
seriously, though, if it's the same one, and if they're on time, the connection won't be a problem. You have to pick up your bags for Customs in Vancouver, but you can drop them off again pretty close to there (if I remember correctly) and it doesn't take very much time at all. |

Thanks Lizara! I've never been to the airport in Vancouver, so I am completely unaware of how big it is or what process I'll have to go through. On my way here, I had to transfer in Boston, where there are many terminals. I ended up missing my connection there. Thanks for the tip |

Yeah, I kind of rushed through it, so my memories are a bit vague... but it's DEFINITELY much easier than Boston. |
