Have been workin out here for a few months now and every paday have had 60k won deducted for health insurance. However after speaking to another teacher he explained that this payment entitles us to 50% of any cost incured if we need to visit the hospital etc and is not an insurance policy as such. Im now thinking of cancelling it and taking out my own full insurance policy, has anyone else done this out here or have any idea of the cost...? Another option may be to take out travel insurance from back home on line?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated! |

If you are under contract, your employer should be paying half of your health insurance payments. Other hakwons pay ALL of the payments, so dude, if you are under contract, you are getting a raw deal.
Sixty thousand won is what you'd pay as a FREELANCER, as in no contract. If you also want to pay for more insurance, other plans are available including from foreign insurers. |
