I have no idea if any of you can even help me, but I've heard this song everywhere, and it's stuck in my head even though I have no idea what half of the words are. It's a female singer, very pop sounding, and I swear to god the chorus is "Mariiiiiiiia, ave maria!" I'm pretty sure I've also seen the song being sung on some movie on OCN at some point.

Any ideas what it is? If you do know the singer's name, I'd appreciated a romanized version of the name, since I my computer is not displaying hangul correctly for some reason.

Uh, it's her covering the Blondie song from 1999:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_%28Blondie_song%29

It's on their comeback album "No Exit". This Kim girl is singing it in Korean and making it a big splash now. It is not her original song.

Yes, she is singing "Ave Maria" in the chorus.

Song is "Maria" (duh) by Loveholic (singer's a cutie, too)

BTW, the singer is not 김아중 (Kim A Jung). Miss Kim is the actress in the movie. She is NOT the lead singer of Loveholic.

I've had a similar problem with another song. This one's been stuck in my head since April 2001, when I first arrived in Korea.

The refrain goes something like:

LAH-la-la-LAAAH, la la LAH LAH, la LAAAH!
La la LAAAH, la la LAH LAH, la LAAAH!

Fresh off the plane at the time, I couldn't make sense of any of the words.

But this song was playing everywhere, EVERYWHERE. And so it's stuck in my mind as my very own welcome-to-Korea anthem, if that makes any sense.

Anyone have any idea what this is/was?

I really would like to know.

That is the theme song from The Smurfs.

i thought the singer's name was kim ah joong.

I remember when I was in Korea in december, I saw this MV, but I missed the tittle. Good thing is, my 이모부 (emobu) was playing it while driving me to the Airport, so i got the title and artist ^^

She might be one of these models crossing over into recording and motion pictures. This is the movie where Kim plays the fat chick.

Actually, she's not that hot and the song is played over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over .... and this version sucks!!!

I'll go psycho if I here that song again. This song needs to die a quick, painless death.

The Blondie song is better.

The little I've heard of the Korean version, it doesn't do justice to the original. For one, it lacks the sultry voice of Debbie Harry.

I wonder if the sexual innuendo has been removed from the Korean lyrics.

I've got earworms as well. Can't seem to get that 'Lemonade-uh!' out of my head. That, and 'Rushee and Cashee.'

It isn't Loveholic, don't know told you this. Kim Ah-Joong sings it. She sang all of the songs in the movie. This was written about in the Korea Times when they did their review of the movie a while back. The arranger was Lee Jae-hak the 'LOVEHOLIC' bassist. There's your confusion.
