I am moving in June to Seoul. I have 3 questions, answer if you can. Thanks.

1. Will it be hard to get a decent contract, housing, etc... without any teaching experience and with a geography degree?

2. Are most Hogwons untrustworthy, or just a few?...

3. I want to go to Seoul National University eventually to get a Master's in International Studies. Anybody know how hard it will be for me to get in, given I know some Korean?

Thanks!

June... I am not sure that you will get a uni job to start June.

Uni has two semesters: 1st March and end of August/beginning of Sept.

Hiring times for these two semesters are in Oct/Nov/Dec and May/June/July...

Reading skills, people! Reading skills! The OP wants to work at a hakwon and ATTEND a university. Yikes.

1) Hakwon jobs can be had virtually at the drop of a hat. Come on over whenever you want, bring your original diploma, your resume, and wear a suit. No experience, no related degree? No worries.

2) NOT all hakwons are trustworth. Very few are. Go for the big chains like PAGODA. You will not be able to attend university while working for an institute, though. Still...

3) Why SNU? Yonsei's program is much better, and it's in a more interesting part of Seoul. They've even put a few people into Harvard out of their international/Korean studies program. Just food for thought. SNU is HIGHLY overrated.
